CARBURETOR FLOAT POST REPAIR

Do you have broken carburetor float post?

We've repaired hundreds of carburetors from all around the world!  Don't panic....often this type of damage can be repaired.  JB Weld or Epoxy is only a temporary fix.  The additives in today’s gasoline will weaken the bond causing the repair to fail.  See photos of a customer epoxy repair that failed.   We correct the problem with a permanent mechanical repair.  Don’t leave yourself stranded have your carburetor repaired today!

How does our repair service work?

Step 1.  Contact us by phone or email and let us know the details of your repair.  To speed up the process send us an email with photos of the broken post.  An email is preferred as you can include a picture of the damage.   We will work with you and discuss our repair strategy to fix your carburetor. You can send us an email directly at  info@chinookfabricationanddesign.com    or use our Contact page to get in touch with us.  We reply to all emails and phone calls.

Note: if you haven't heard back from us check your junk mail... our reply may have wound up there.

Step 2.  Simply ship the carburetor to us.  Make sure to include the complete carburetor assembly with the float, pin, float bowl etc…   This ensures that our repair is 100% fully functional as complete unit.   Let us know when the carburetor has been shipped and provide a tracking number when possible.

Step 3.  Once the repair is complete we will notify you and send pictures of the repair.  Upon completion you pay for the repair and we will ship the carburetor back to you.  Payment is simple, we will send you a Paypal Invoice once you are satisfied so you can pay via Credit Card... no Paypal account is required.

Note:  Free return shipping to Canada & USA with tracking # is included in the price.

How long does it take?

We strive to complete the repair within 5 working days.  Most often it is sooner (depending on our workload).  Return shipping is Expedited Service and usually arrives within 7 days (Canada & USA).   Express repair and shipping is available upon request (additional fee applies).

What is involved with the repair?

First of all we prepare a repair strategy to ensure that the repair exceeds oem specifications.  We take multiple measurements and reverse engineer a replacement post for the broken one.   We machine the broken post to incorporate a either a shoulder or a threaded hole to maintain post alignment and float pin height.  Then we machine a replacement post which is fastened with a small screw or threaded end.  There are other methods of repair as well should they be required.

How much does it cost?

Our repair service cost $99.95 (US) for a single post repair and $149.95 (US) for a 2 post repair.  Free return shipping to Canada & USA with tracking number.

Feel free to look at the pictures and contact us if you have any questions.
